Image Color Palette Extractor

Extract a palette of representative colors from an image.

How to use Image Color Palette Extractor

  1. Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP image from your device.
  2. Set the requested palette size from 2 to 12 colors and extract the palette.
  3. Review the HEX and RGB values and sampled-pixel counts, then copy a color or download the swatch image and text list.

What this tool does

Colors are sampled and quantized, so the palette is an approximation.

Example

A landscape photo analyzed with six colors produces six representative HEX and RGB swatches; use them as a starting palette, then check colors in the intended design.

Frequently asked questions

Are the palette colors exact measurements of the whole image?

No. The image is sampled at up to 256 pixels per side and colors are grouped deterministically. Results approximate the image palette and are not color-managed measurements.

Why can transparent pixels be missing?

Pixels with less than 50 percent opacity are excluded from the palette calculation.
